Why are women comfortable living in a patriarchal society?

Whats funny is that men allow some sorts of freedoms every hundred or so years and women feel empowered like it was such a great donation given to them. Give them the right to vote one century, give them freedom to get an education the next century. When in actuality its just breadcrumbs given to them.
